Eduardo da Silva’s Broken Leg

In 2008, Eduardo da Silva, the Brazilian-born Croatian striker, suffered a horrific injury while playing for Arsenal. He sustained a compound fracture to his left fibula and an open dislocation of his ankle after a tackle by Birmingham City’s Martin Taylor. Eduardo’s rehabilitation was an arduous process, involving surgery to repair the fractured leg and extensive physiotherapy. He had to regain strength and mobility in his leg, which took months of hard work and determination. He eventually made a remarkable comeback to professional football but was never quite the same player as before the injury.
